A coffee bean thrives only as much as its growing conditions allow it. Laxman Rao strongly believes that the soil in his coffee farm has changed drastically from the time of his father. As a result of routine mulching, decomposition of leaves from diverse fruit, forest, and shade trees, the soil structure has improved.

Since 2010, Laxman Rao and wife Erramma have dedicated themselves to grow exceptional coffee at their farm in Rangasinghpadu, situated at a high altitude of 3800 ft above the sea level. “Coffee farmers work very hard to give excellent quality beans”, says Erramma, who spends most of her day in the farm during cherry-picking season.

Well-loved under the shade of sweet custard apples, the duo’s contribution this season is one of the sweetest coffees – Gems181 with jammy and toffee notes.
