Lot GEMS 18240: Economics of Excellence
Before joining Naandi, this farmer produced and processed his coffee and sold it at the weekly market which earned him bare minimum returns. Additionally, the undervaluing of his produce by middlemen added to his woes. However, this year – first time with Naandi – he directed his attention to producing only the highest quality coffee cherries, leaving the processing and marketing aspects to Naandi. Through meticulous attention to detail, he produced top grade coffee cherries which resulted in earnings 39% higher than compared to the previous years.
Today, when he walks in his coffee plot, rustling the leaves and breathing in crisp morning air – his family dreams of securing their children's future and building economic stability. He knows his dream is achievable by taking care of one coffee bush and picking one crimson red cherry, at a time.
