Vanthala Chinnayya and his wife Kondamma are proud owners of a two-acre coffee plot in Doravalasa, Araku. Having been recognized as Gems of Araku farmers last year, their steadfast commitment has secured them a place in this year’s prestigious line up as well.
The duo attribute this success to proper management of shade that creates an ideal environment for the production of flavourful coffee cherries. Regular pruning and adjustment of shade levels ensure that the coffee plants receive precisely what they need. When dried, their coffee achieves the optimal moisture content of 10 - 11.5%.
Vanthala Chinnayya generously shares his wealth of experience with fellow farmers. His guiding principle is simple - every farmer in his village, especially those neighboring his land, should benefit from the transformative power of regenerative farming.
In this year's collection, Chinnayya and Kondamma’s coffee captivates with cupping notes of vanilla, hibiscus, brown sugar, red berries, sweet tomatoes, delivering a remarkably clean and sweet experience.

International jury cupping notes: These beans are full of flavors of vanilla, hibiscus, and brown sugar, balanced with red berries and currants. Sweet tomatoes add a unique touch, while maintaining a clean and sweet profile. Enjoy nutty undertones, with hints of cacao and juicy vanilla. Notes of apricot and orange add brightness, with a silky body and hints of lemon and citrus. Delicate hints of lemongrass and green tea blend seamlessly with nutty flavors of walnut and sugarcane. Subtle notes of brown sugar, caramel, and milk chocolate, with a touch of jasmine and clover. Exceptionally transparent and balanced, offering a refined experience.
