Collaborative Ecosystem
Gems164
55-year-old V Sanyasi Rao and wife Chinammi have been a part of the Araku coffee family since 2010. Over the years, the duo has actively ensured dialogue between coffee farmers of the village and Naandi village trainers to constantly learn and adapt to the coffee farm’s changing soil & weather condition, farm and bush requirement, etc. “The key is to respect the farm and its produce”, they say.
The income from coffee was invested in cattle to plough land for rajma, ragi and paddy cultivation. It is through collaboration with nature that families like Rao’s produce coffee. Gems164 is this year’s contribution.
