Lot Gems141: Nurturing Farms

Tucked in a quaint corner in the valley is village Girliguda, accenting one of the most scenic routes in the region. The village is in dire need of a year-round functional road and network coverage, but the residents of the village are content and walk everywhere confidently with intrepid smiles on their faces.

A perennial stream surrounds the coffee farm of K Sorbhu and his wife. A family of five, their three children are off to the local school every day. Sorbhu is often caught tending to the coffee plants with the serene humming of the nearby stream accompanying him. Araku is a rain-fed region and the only source of irrigation year-round are the monsoon showers starting in the month of May. This stream nurtures his coffee year-round in well-drained soils resulting in stellar coffees such as Gems141.
