Nurturing Roots (Dark chocolate, red fruit, cherry, berriers, nice depth, spice & complex)

GEMS58

Krishna Rao, an engineering graduate and a proud young father at 29, is determined to pass on his family’s farming legacy to his days-old son. Returning to his family farm after years of study in the city, Krishna says he felt a deep connection to the land and his mother's tireless efforts to keep their ancestral farm thriving.

Losing his father at a very young age, Rao was entrusted with the responsibility of farm care. Together with his mother, he carefully nurtured a diverse range of shade trees in their 1-acre farm. Additional mentoring came from Naandi’s monthly training sessions on farm management that strengthened the coffee’s collaborative ecosystem.

The fruits of their labour shine bright in Gems58. The resulting coffee boasts complex flavours of dark chocolate, red fruit, cherry with a nice depth.
