Soil Stewards (Rose, burgundy wine, juicy, complex, whiskey)

GEMS143

Mathyaraju and Padma from Geddavalasa village embarked on their coffee journey back in 2009. Their 1-acre farm is meticulously planned and cared for – with trenches dug perpendicular to the slope to collect eroding top soil & mulch during rains. The organic matter in these trenches is allowed to decompose, returning all the goodness back to the coffee.

One of the key reasons for the farm’s success is the sufficient Soil Organic Carbon (SOC) of 1.4%. This indicates healthy soil, nutrient availability and the presence of an active microbial community – all of which contribute to the very special coffee beans of Gems143.

The yield has doubled, providing additional income for their family of five. With these positive results, the duo plans to expand their coffee farm and contribute generously to the world of specialty coffee.

When cupped, Gems143 showcases rose, burgundy wine, juicy & whiskey notes.
